Merry birthday Stephenie!

Which Stephenie, you ask?  Why the author of Twilight of course!  Let's talk about somethign different thou.  Her other book, The Host is very good also, and is being made into a movie (of course!)  So why not try that out?

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind. Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves-Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she's never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.

My favorite line used to describe this book?  "featuring the only love triangle involving only two bodies"  haha.

Movie Monday - The Host

Now, The Host is technically an adult novel.  But Stephenie Meyer is such a popular teen author that alot of teens have also read (and loved!) this book.  It's VERY different from Twilight (I actually like it better.  BLASPHEMY! I know!  But I do.  I want her to write a sequel quite badly.)  Here's the plot:

Featuring what may be the first love triangle involving only two bodies, THE HOST is a riveting and unforgettable novel that will bring a vast new readership to one of the most compelling writers of our time.

Sounds weird, but its good.  A love triangle with only two bodies.  I love that line and it makes it SO UNIQUE!

Here's what I know about a movie:

Oh boy, I love the movie poster already!  AND!  They cast someone that I love!  Saoirse Ronan!  Hooray!  And lookie, there's a trailer!

I LOVE IT.  This makes me so excited!  March 29, 2013!

What do you think?

2 YA authors have Christmas Eve birthdays!

Birthdays near Christmas tend to stink, cause most people will only give you one gift.  But I hope that Sharon Flake and Stephenie Meyer have wonderful birthdays today and wonderful holiday seasons as well!
