It's time for another round of MOVIE MONDAY! What's up for today?
THE BOOK:
In a single moment, everything changes. Seventeen year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall riding along the snow-wet Oregon road with her family. Then, in a blink, she finds herself watching as her own damaged body is taken from the wreck... While in a coma following the automobile accident that killed her parents and younger brother, seventeen-year-old Mia, a gifted cellist, weighs whether to live with her grief or join her family in death. A sophisticated, layered, and heart achingly beautiful story about the power of family and friends, the choices we all make--and the ultimate choice Mia commands.
Sounds so sad! This is one I haven't read yet, but I know it's been quite popular.
THE MOVIE:
Summit Entertainment (the same studio that makes the Twilight movies) owns the right to this movie and casting is apparently underway. Catherine Hardwick (director of Twilight) was attached to direct, but has dropped out. Now attached to direct is Brazilian director Heitor Dhalia, who directed Gone, the 2012 thriller film which stared Amanda Seyfried. (who I love!)
There have been 3 names thrown out to there to be possibly to be cast to play Mia. Let's take a look...

Dakota Fanning
Twilight movies - Jane (one of the Voltori)
voice of Coraline
Secret Life of Bees - Lily
Chloe Grace Moretz
Dark Shadows - Carolyn
Hugo - Isabelle
Kickass - Mindy/Hitgirl
Emily Browning
Suckerpunch - Babydoll
Uninvited - Anna
A Series of Unfortunate Events - Violet
All three are great actresses, but I think Dakota is the best fit for the part. I think Emily and Chloe are more...bad ass chicks to me. What do you think? Leave a comment~
