We want YOU to be a VOLUNTEEN!

It's that time of year again, guys and gals!  It's time to sign up to be a volunteen this summer are the library!  As a volunteen you will be manning the Summer Reading Desk, helping patrons to sign up for the program, tracking books, giving out prizes, giving out raffle tickets, cutting shapes, hanging up shapes in the windows, and more!

Volunteer for 6 hours and you will get this awesome tshirt~

The Teen Summer Reading program this year also includes badges/achievements and there are special badges for volunteering!  So, you can even earn raffle tickets from your time spent volunteering!

Also, anyone who volunteers for the Summer Reading Program this summer will be invited to the Volunteer Appreciation Picnic at the end of the program where we will play games, listen to music, and have snacks!

If you are between the ages of 12 and 18 and would like to volunteer as a volunteen this summer at the Summer Reading Desk you can sign up starting this coming Tuesday, May 27th in the volunteen binder at the front desk.  If you have any questions, please ask Miss Gardiner (thats me!) the Young Adult Librarian.  You can come into the library, call the library at 860-349-9544, or email me at kgardiner@durhamlibrary.org

PS:  The hours you volunteer at the library count as community service hours, if you need them for school, church, or any other organization!
